We are COVID Safe!

We are COVID Safe!

Safety has always been a priority at Krause Construction, and that extends to ensuring our workers and members of the public are kept as safe as possible from COVID-19. The pandemic has changed the way we live and work for the foreseeable future, and we are all having to get used to new ways of doing things. Here’s what we are doing to ensure we comply with the standard set by Public Health and the requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act.

Why a COVID Safety Plan?

Consisting of 1.2 million employees and 400,000 small businesses, construction has been considered an essential industry in Australia during the pandemic, and it’s important we do everything we can to keep the industry going.

“A COVID Safety Plan is a great way for businesses to document measures and show how they are keeping their customers, their workers and the community safe.”

 – Peter Gutwein, Premier Of Tasmania

Social distancing may slow down the pace of work, but most businesses have been accepting of the new measures and understand that the alternative is no work at all.

Our COVID-19 Safety Plan

Social distancing and good hygiene practices are the foundation of every COVID safety plan.

“Business owners, employers, construction workers, subcontractors, site managers – everyone must be accountable for social distancing and strict hygiene not only on the building site but also off-site when on breaks and before and after shifts.”

 – Master Builders Australia chief executive Denita Wawn.

We have conducted a thorough risk assessment and implemented measures to make sure we meet all the required standards outlined in WorkSafe Tasmania’s COVID safe workplace guidelines (building construction and construction trade services)

These include:

  • Cleaning
  • Physical distancing
  • Health
  • Hygiene and facilities
  • Printable signage.
